First Shots with Fisheye at Chiang-Kai Shek Memorial Hall

I been thinking about getting a Samyang 8mm fish-eye for months now, and finally decided to do it last Saturday.

I went to Chiang-kai Shek Memorial Hall at Liberty Square on Sunday to test it. Lucky it was raining and I had the chance to get some of the reflection shots I been wanting to do for a while, too.

Liberty Square contains some excellent architecture. Although mocked by some for being more of a neo-classical style, which resulted from the Cultural Revolution's destruction of classical culture in China.

Both are HDR shots, which I did mainly to average the shots to get people out of the picture.

The National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall (中正紀念堂) is a grandiose Taiwanese national monument in memory of Chiang Kai-shek, the former authoritarian President of Taiwan. The Memorial Hall is white with a blue octagonal roof. The number eight is traditionally associated in Taiwan with abundance and good fortune. The two sets of white stairs each have 89 steps, representing Chiang's age at the time of his death, go up to the main entrance. The blue roof, white walls, and red flowerbeds of the memorial hall reflect the colors of Taiwan's Flag.

The monument is at the east end of Liberty Square (or Memorial Hall Square) with the National Theater and National Concert Hall on the north and south sides respectively.
